YNH Engineering Specialises in:

  • Deep Foundation - Bored Piles
  • Deep Excavation Supporting System - Contiguous Bored Pile Walls

For the design and execution of foundation construction sites, various construction processes are used according to the task and framework conditions, such as: large bored piles, anchors, jet grouting procedures

Deep Foundation - Bored Piles

Bored Piles is a solution for deep foundation works with certain restrictive conditions such as:

  • Piling into unsuitable bearing material.
  • Restrictions in large excavations and subsequent backfill.
  • Close proximity to sensitive structures
  • Requirement of high capacity pile to overcome space restriction of multiple pile groups.

Bored piling is popular to be used in construction as a foundation, especially for bridge work and tall buildings as well. For many design situations bored piles offer higher capacities with potentially better economics than driven piles. Bored piling work has to be done by specialist bored piling contractor, normal piling contractor cannot execute these type of work without experience and knowledge about bored piles.

Deep Excavation Supporting System - Contiguous Bored Pile Walls

This is a widely used form of construction where contiguous walls are constructed with small spaces between adjacent piles where the size of the space is determined by the nature and condition of the soil. These retaining piles are suitable in areas where water table is deep or where soil permeability is low.

The contiguous bored piles are connected with a Capping beams at the top, which assists equitable pressure distributions in piles.

The main purpose of contiguous bored pile is:

  • Avoid excessive bulk excavation
  • For safe excavation of basements
  • Ground stabilisation work (such as working on a hill or incline)
  • or when you need to ensure that you maintain the ground where there is an adjoining property

This is due to the fact that the main advantage of this system is that it does not cause vibration which can destabilise existing structures.

We encourage the use of contiguous piled wall because it is proven to be a technically effective and a cost effective method of providing temporary or permanent means of retaining the sides of bulk excavations, even in water bearing strata.

Contiguous piled walls can be designed to accommodate vertical loads in addition to horizontal forces when they are used in permanent works and the construction techniques for both methods are the same as for foundation bearing piles.
